8 Hour Course Outline
The text book to be used for this class is Building Trades Printreading – Part 2, Thomas Proctor, published by American Technical Publishers, Inc.
Pre-class Assignment: Read chapter 9 of the text book
Class 1 (2 hours):
- Introduce Wendy's Restaurant Project.
- Discuss Drawing sheets 2 - 8 (architectural drawings)
- Discuss the inter-relationships of the drawings.
- Discuss schedules and their relationship to the drawings.
- Participants to work on answering the Trade Competency Questions for sheets 2 through 8.
Class 2 (2 hours)
- Participants to work on answering the Trade Competency Questions for sheets 2 through 8.
- Instructor to review answers to the Trade Competency Questions for sheets 2 through 8.
Class 3 (2 hours)
- Introduce the engineering drawings.
- Discuss drawings 9 through 15.
- Participants to work on answering the Trade Competency Questions for sheets 9 through 15.
Class 4 (2 hours)
- Participants to work on answering the Trade Competency Questions for sheets 9 through 15.
- Instructor to review answers to the Trade Competency Questions for sheets 9 through 15.
- Assign homework reading of chapter 10.
- Introduce specifications
- Discuss specifications for Wendy's Restaurant.
- Instructor to review answers to Trade Competency Questions for chapter 10. Issue certificates of course completion.
The Instructor for this class will be Mr. John Zeit. Mr. Zeit is a Registered Architect with a consulting practice and is also a 25 year member of the faculty of Stark State College’s Civil Engineering Technology program.
